All you really need to know about cellulite.

June 4, 2020

Today we’re talking about the C-word. Cellulite. You’ve probably feared the word since you were 10 years old. It’s talked about in every tabloid and avoided in every mom group. Cellulite has become the body’s worst enemy.

But between 80 and 90 percent of women may experience cellulite at some point in their lives. Did you catch that? 80-90 percent. That’s a pretty big number. Cellulite might be more normal that we are willing to admit. Maybe us and Kim Kardashian have something in common.

Cellulite is almost inevitable. What’s cool about this something that is really normal and happens to everyone is that it doesn’t inhibit us from doing anything that we love. We can still run for fun and have cellulite. We can wear shorts at the beach and have cellulite. Cellulite has stopped us from doing nothing!

It’s time to get over our cellulite anxiety. It’s time to make peace with our butt and thighs.

But just because we are body positive doesn’t mean we can’t still take care of ourselves. Exfoliating, moisturizing, and exercising are some of the greatest forms of self care in our opinion. Exercising has best results when it’s not hyper focused on one area, but instead is well rounded and focused on the body as a whole.

It’s okay to love your body and still moisturize to avoid getting wrinkles or stretch marks. That’s okay.

What’s not okay is when it keeps you from getting in the pool and living your life.

American actress Skye Townsend says, ”We forget that stretch marks, cellulite, and some stomach fat is natural. We forget that we are born human and physically can’t be perfect…We forget to be flawed.”
