De-clutter & Boost Your Energy

November 1, 2017

Organizing your space will not only create more space in your home, but in your mind as well. Disorganized people often feel frustrated, anxious, and out of control. Removing clutter in your home has the ability to generate fresh energy, release negative emotion, and create mental space as well as physical space.

De-clutterOrganization gives you more time for the things you want to do – cooking, exercising, family time, taking a bath, etc. Essentially leaving time to take care you; which is crucial to mental health. With today’s fast-paced society, we could all use a little more “me time.”

If energy can’t flow freely, nothing else can begin to improve. Start small each day, even if it is only with a single drawer, cupboard, or small room in your house. Make de-cluttering a quick 15-minute weekly routine. Last but not least, get in the habit of putting things away instead of doing it later. These are just a few simple changes you can make daily to de-clutter your home, mind, body, and soul.

My clean and organized closet trick.
I have a rule that every season I go through my closet. If I haven’t worn a peace of clothing for over two years, I give it away, or take it to a local thrift store.

De-cluttering is hard for me because I tend to be a hoarder. I went to Big Lots and bought baskets in various sizes with handles. Since I am so short, I am using these for high shelves so that I can grab the handle and get the basket down easier. Hope this helps someone else short like me!

I am working on this, and try to do one bigger project on the weekend and small things after work like go through my mail stack. In my closet I decided if I buy any new clothes I need to get ride of that many existing items in my closet.
