DIY Spa Day

Having a spa day might not be your first priority right now, but it definitely could be a perfect response to all the chaos of the world. There are incredible stress relieving benefits that come from taking a minute for yourself, and that’s something we could all use.

A DIY spa day at home doesn’t have to be complicated, it can be as simple as taking 20 minutes to draw a bath and light a candle or putting on a face mask. Here are some of our favorite ways to destress and take care of ourselves:

Do a dry-brushing session.

Dry brushing can have incredible beauty and physical health benefits. Dry brushing not only exfoliates your skin but increases blood flow and stimulates collagen production. It’s also incredible at toning and lifting your skin.

Start at the tops of your feet and brush upward, always toward the heart. Include the back of your arms and back. You can find an affordable dry brush here.

Take a bath and do a mask.

Combine your bathtime with a face mask to maximize your time and the beauty benefits. Add chamomile or rosemary to your bath to help hydrate and calm the skin. While you’re soaking put on an easy homemade face mask;

Make a DIY lip mask.

Lip masks are the EASIEST to make. Just mix together some sugar and honey, and add any essential oils to flavor if desired. Sugar helps scrub and slough off the dead skin and moisturize, acting as a natural exfoliant. The honey has natural anti-bacterial properties to soothe and heal.

Indulge in a bath bomb.

Bath bombs can have a softening effect on the skin and can make bath time so much more soothing. Check out our favorite easy bath bomb recipe here!

Soak your feet in bath salts.

Epsom salts are the greatest gift to mankind. Soak your feet in warm water and bath salts for 10-15 minutes to help sore or dry feet. Our favorite scents are tea tree and eucalyptus. The best part about soaking your feet is you can do it while you catch up on the latest episode of your favorite series!

A few other things you can do to paper yourself on your spa day is to try new skin care tools, deck out your shower with plants or rose petals, or have a calming beverage.
