How To Spot A Weight Loss Scam

Are you sick of the several weight loss trends that usually never work? So many workout/diet programs claim to remove belly fat in 30 days. I’ve seen programs promise a smaller waistline in two weeks time if supplemented with a certain dehydration pill. Usually you’re left with no results and less money in your bank account. Here are a few ways to spot scams before investing your time, effort and money.

“Weight-loss formula for everyone!”- Every body is so different and unique; there is no way one program will work for everyone. (Unless the program is to increase exercise and eat healthier foods for a long period of time).   The program might work, just check in with a health professional you trust before investing.

It claims rapid weight loss. If someone claims that they can help you lose 20 pounds in two weeks, run, do not walk. Actually, the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention states that losing weight slowly and gradually is the best way to keep it off in the future.

It claims that you won’t have to eat healthier or exercise. I HATE this one. Healthy weight loss requires that you put in the work to eat healthier and exercise. When programs say that you can, “Eat whatever you want” and still see results, I cringe. Usually, it’s not true. And worse, there is a pill involved that is going to really mess up your body’s metabolism for the long haul.

These are just a few big red flags to try and avoid while searching for weight loss programs. While Salus does endorse an occasional cleanse to reset the body’s system, it’s important to be weary of quick fixes. Get healthy with integrity. Take care of yourselves because at the end of the day it’s not about you look, it’s about how you feel.
