Letting Go of Control

The more control over life he or she may believe the happier they will be; however, the attempt to inappropriately control every event brings unhappiness. The use of control is paradoxical: we believe taking control will bring us security and happiness, yet its overuse causes unhappiness, anxiety, and turmoil. It’s important to accept that we are not omnipotent or all powerful, and no amount of planning will change that the future is unknown. We must learn to let go of things that are out of our control and learn to trust. “Live life on life’s terms.” Accepting that life is unpredictable, trusting we can handle whatever comes our way.
