Making Healthy Lifestyle Changes

There are a lot of things we would like to change about ourselves or about our lives. It can be overwhelming to try and improve in all of the areas of our life. We get nervous that any progress we make might be lost if we lose focus (hello exercise!) So we thought we would put together some of our favorite tips on making small lifestyle changes.

Set achievable goals, often.

Goals are the best way to accomplish the changes we want to make. Goals help you stay on track and reasonable, achievable goals will help keep you from disappointment and assist you in actually achieving your goals.

Set a goal that has nothing to do with your body’s appearance.

We have always put an emphasis on being balanced in your health. And a big part of that is making goals that have nothing to do with the way that your body looks or your weight.

Making lifestyle changes can also apply to how much money you are spending, what kind of foods you are eating, or how much time you allow yourself to be still and meditate. Make sure that your goals and lifestyle changes.

Exercise every single day.

Moving our body with a positive purpose every single day has an immense amount of benefits. If you can accomplish this every single day then what else could you do?! Exercising also gives us more energy throughout the day and focuses the mind.

Make your bed every morning.

Starting your day by making your bed has proved to be effective in accomplishing other goals. If you make your bed in the morning then you have accomplished the very first task of the day. If you can’t do the little things, then you’ll never be able to accomplish the bigger things.

Enlist support from family and friends.

Support from family and friends increases our likelihood of accomplishing our dreams and truly making healthy lifestyle changes. It keeps us accountable to someone and when we’re down they can provide support and motivation.

Our favorite quote when it comes to lifestyle changes are the Holstee Manifesto;

“This is your life. Do what you love, and do it often. If you don’t like something, change it. If you don’t like your job, quit. If you don’t have enough time, stop watching TV. If you are looking for the love of your life, stop; they will be waiting for you when you start doing things you love. Stop over analyzing, life is simple. All emotions are beautiful. When you eat, appreciate every last bite. Open your mind, arms, and hearts to new things and people, we are united in our differences. Ask the next person you see what their passion is, and share your inspiring dream with them. Travel often; getting lost will help you find yourself, Some opportunities come only once, seize them. Life is about the people you meet, and the things you create with them so go out and start creating. Life is short. Live your dream and share your passion.”

We can give you all of the tips but when it comes down to it lifestyle changes are simple. If you don’t love something, change it.
