Maximize Your Workouts

April 22, 2019

Albert Einstein once said…”Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.” Smart guy!

You see it all the time. Those dedicated people at the gym every day, doing the same routine over and over again, yet their bodies never change. Maybe you fall into this category! This can be frustrating and unmotivating. Let us help you stop the INSANITY, and get the results you want by following these 5 simple steps to Maximize Your Workouts!!

  1. Eat your Protein! You may remember your mother telling you at dinnertime to eat your vegetables. This was, and still is great advice, but many people don’t pay enough attention to getting the protein their muscles need to rebuild. Both cardio and strength workouts require protein for building muscles. (*56 grams per day for the average sedentary man/ *46 grams per day for the average sedentary woman.) If your body doesn’t get enough protein, you will get very little out of your workouts. So Eat your Protein and Maximize your Workouts!

  1. Drink Water: Your body is composed of about 60% water. Your body needs water to help with digestion, absorption, and circulation. There are so many benefits to drinking water! It makes your skin look healthier, it can help control your calorie intake, and it helps to energize your muscles. When muscle cells don’t have adequate fluids, they don’t work as well and performance can suffer. To Maximize your Workouts, drink about 16 ounces of fluid two hours before exercise. During exercise, drink at regular intervals to replace fluids lost by sweating, and throughout the day drink at least 64 ounces of water to stay hydrated.

  1. Compound exercises: Compound exercises is like multitasking! Instead of isolating your muscles with exercises such as the bicep curl, you can maximize the time you spend in a workout by doing exercises that work multiple muscle groups at once. With just a few exercises, you could get a full-body workout! And who doesn’t love getting multiple things done at once? Some great compound exercises to Maximize your Workouts include squats, deadlifts, good mornings, lunges, pushups, bench presses, military presses, rows, pull-ups, dips, and more.

  1. Slow Lifting: Life moves quickly around us. We are all in a hurry, trying to get things done quickly and efficiently. But to Maximize your Workouts, you need to slow it down! When lifting, many people contract their muscles slowly and then release more quickly. But if you lift slowly in both directions, you are maximizing each move, getting the best results possible!  *Lift and lower to a 3-second count in each direction.

  1. High-intensity workouts: You’ve heard the phrase, “Quality, not quantity.” It’s true! You don’t have to spend hours in the gym or working out to get the results you want! To Maximize your Workouts, step it up with high-intensity training. You can achieve more progress in a mere 15 minutes of HIIT training (*done three times a week) than jogging on the treadmill for an hour. This will give you more time in the day to do the things that you love! DOWNLOAD FREE HIIT WORKOUT! CLICK HERE

I still haven’t found a niche for exercise, so I just to the treadmill. Gotta get to the weights!!
