Let me ask you a few questions…
Do you want to be happy?
Do you want others to be happy?
Do you believe others want you to be happy? (this is a hard one right?)
T’is better to give than to receive” they say and as cliché as it sounds, I have personally found that there’s nothing quite as rewarding than being able to be of service to those who are in need.
It is important to keep in mind that “No act of kindness, however small, is ever wasted”. Whether it is done through doing random acts of kindness to strangers or expressing deliberate acts of love and compassion to our loved ones, the joy we receive from knowing that have made a positive impact on someone’s life is simply priceless.
The power of a simple act of kindness is already within you, it’s just a matter of whether or not we take intentional action to express them.
One of the easiest ways to do this is through performing acts of kindness.
So, what are simple acts of kindness?
It doesn’t have to be anything over the top, such as giving away a kidney volunteering for hours on end. It can be as simple as a smile, holding open a door, paying for the person in line behind you, connecting with a stranger, or the simple words, ‘I love you’.
Literally, it can be anything… here’s one of my favorite ones, Think of someone. Got it? Now send them a positive text message like: “Hey Emily, just saying thanks for being the person I can always count on to make me laugh. I appreciate you.”
Okay, are you ready to throw kindness around like confetti!?
You’re all set… now go, don’t be shy… it’s a matter of whether or not you’ll take that first step. Once you start, you’ll create a ripple effect that’ll inspire people all around you to spread random acts of kindness too.
