I have a very bad habit of going straight for the cookie jar/Chocolate chip bag, etc. right when I get home from work. I used to think it was just a habit but now I’m thinking it was the stress of the transition between work and home. It seems to be an absolutely insurmountable urge and sometimes the battle of fighting the urge is the most exhausting part – I nearly always succumb. I’m going to use these tips to find a more productive (active) way of fighting the urge as opposed to just letting the battle go on in my brain. Thanks, Denise.

Some stress is self inflicted. If you can talk yourself into a a stress mode, you can certainly learn to undo the negative talk into positive talk. Avoid the negative Nelly, energy sucker, stream roller people. Only you can control your feeling so stay in control.

I have been on a mission for the past month to get my home in order, because once I get home I’m on the run getting dinner on the table and helping my son with his homework, and of course you want to leave some time to have fun with the kids. This past weekend I was finally able to pre-prepare meals for the whole week… and it has made the biggest difference on my stress level.

Stress, I like to do what the song says and Shake It Off. Singing along with the radio is a fun stress reliever during the commute.

  7. Alicia says:

Journaling is a great idea to help unpack stress. I will try to do that more regularly. Good advice thanks!
