The 5 Best Reasons to Get (or stay) Healthy

The health industry has started to take over our culture. While this is wonderful news, some of us are asking, “But what’s the point?” Many people pursue health only because it’s being thrown at us every day. These are usually the people that fall off the bandwagon just a few weeks later. Most likely due to the fact that they aren’t getting healthy for any particular reason other than they think they are “supposed” to improve their health.

 

Here are a few great reasons to get (or stay) healthy.

Thrive instead of survive: It’s not just about living until we are 100. Thriving means enjoying life until the end. Maintaining mobility, cognition, and simply being able to enjoy life until our last days so that it’s not just about survival.

Increased mental health: Studies have shown that exercise boosts brain activity. If you want to avoid becoming senile in your later years, move your body until the end.

Prevent disease and illness: Regular exercise and a healthy diet will release free radicals and promote the release of toxins associated with disease and infection. Healthy lifestyles prevent a number of diseases such as hypertension (high blood pressure), type II diabetes, cardiovascular disease, etc.

More confidence in appearance: This is the most common goal we see. People want to feel like they look great! There is nothing wrong with pursuing a healthy lifestyle so that you can feel confident with the way you look. But just note, confidence comes from the inside. 

For the people you love: Sometimes it’s tough to stay committed. I have found one of the most effective ways to be consistent with health is to think of the people you love. They want you to thrive instead of survive, to avoid disease & illness, and to be confident with yourself. Let your loved ones inspire you.
