Warrior Flow

Inflammation is part of the body’s immune response. Have you ever noticed how swollen you can get after one too many cocktails are a few too many cans of soda?

Alcohol and soda are diuretics, meaning these drinks cause you to flush out water, which leads to dehydration.   A dehydrated body tends to hold onto more water than a healthy, hydrated one.   Foods high in sugar and saturated fat can also spur inflammation. While some swelling can be temporary, other types of inflammation are detrimental to health and uncomfortable. Side effects from inflammation are: joint pain, fatigue, and damage to blood vessels.

People who regularly practice yoga may have reduced levels of interleukin-6 (a marker of inflammation), according to a 2010 study.  Analyzing blood samples from the participants, researchers observed that those who practiced yoga had 41 percent lower levels of interleukin-6 than those who didn’t practice yoga.

Coach Mikalyn has created a Warrior Flow for SalusPeople.   Salus suggests doing anywhere from 4-5 reps on both the right & left side.
